Ceci n'est pas une pipe"

I'm really excited about the new earrings that I made. I call them "Magritte" I recently found a pair of mismatched black pipes on eBay that instantly reminded me of the DaDa influenced surrealist artist Rene Magritte's painting called " La Trahison des Images".. The seller was claiming that they could possibly be "Bakelite" COULD BE.. I could tell that they were not just by looking at them. I have a certain fondness for Bakelite... Certainly my jewelry boxes and home exudes that. They are one of the four earrings that I made last night and these will be hard to part with. They are simple nothing fancy just minimal.. Less can be more.

My other pair of earrings I took from vintage ladies watches that I recently found at the Cypress swap meet.. Tore them apart and here is the end results!
